Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reviewed the passing-out parade of the 74th batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad on February 11, 2023. A total of 195 officer trainees including 29 foreign officer trainees were part of the Dikshant Parade, which marked the completion of 50 weeks of the phase-1 basic course at the academy. With 37 female officer trainees, the 74 RR (regular recruit) batch of the IPS has the distinction of having the highest-ever number of female trainees, at 23 per cent. Following a recent memorandum of understanding signed with NALSAR University of Law, the IPS officer trainees and foreign officer trainees would for the first time receive an MA in criminal justice system and a post graduate diploma, respectively, from the university after the completion of 104 weeks of training. The parade was commanded by IPS probationer Shahansha K S of the Kerala cadre, who is the all-round topper ofthe phase-1 basic course.

New Delhi: Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) Chairman Vivek Johri, IRS presided over the Passing-Out Parade, 2023, and delivered the keynote address on the occasion. The induction training of the 72nd Batch of IRS (C&IT) culminated with a Passing Out Parade on February 10, 2023, at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Faridabad. The 72nd Batch consists of 33 officers, which includes 7 women officers. 

These officers will be at the forefront of administering the Customs and Indirect taxes in the country. Vivek Johri urged the young officers to maintain the balance between facilitation and enforcement. He also emphasized on adapting technology to make life easier for taxpayers as well. He insisted that the officers remember their role as public servants, to be accessible to the people and to be the change they want to see.
