Go First Gears Up to Fly Again from May 27, Pilots to Undergo Refresher Course

Go First Airlines, formerly known as GoAir, is preparing to restart its operations by May 27 after suspending all its flights till May 26 due to operational reasons. Sources told News18 that the pilots have been asked to join a refresher course from Thursday to get ready for flying again. The sources also said that the airline may resume operations with less than 10 aircrafts initially.

The airline had earlier cancelled all its flights till May 19, but later extended the cancellation till May 26. It issued a statement apologising for the inconvenience caused by the flight cancellations and assured a full refund to the original mode of payment. The airline also said that it is working on resolving its issues and will be able to resume bookings shortly. It thanked the customers for their patience and cooperation.

The airline had recently filed an application for immediate resolution under insolvency and revival of its operations. It is facing a cash crunch and has defaulted on payments to its lessors, vendors and employees. Go First is one of the low-cost carriers in India and operates domestic and international flights. It has a fleet of 55 aircrafts, mostly Airbus A320neo.
