MS Dhoni files criminal case against ex-business partners, claims cheating of over Rs 15 crore - Kruthiga V S

Renowned cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has taken legal action against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited by filing a criminal case in a Ranchi court.

Allegedly, Diwakar entered into an agreement with Dhoni in 2017 to establish a global cricket academy. However, Diwakar failed to fulfill the stipulated conditions, including payment of a franchise fee and profit sharing. Despite numerous attempts and legal notices, the agreement’s terms were not honored. MSD revoked Aarka Sports’ authority letter in August 2021. Dayanand Singh, representing Dhoni, claims they were deceived, resulting in a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.

Additionally, Dhoni’s friend, Simant Lohani, known as Chittu, filed a complaint, alleging threats and abuse by Diwakar after taking legal action. MSD recently returned from Dubai, where he welcomed the New Year. He is anticipated to participate in IPL 2024, marking a potential farewell season.

Despite knee surgery in 2023, Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth title in 2023. His recovery has progressed well, and he expressed optimism about returning to competitive action.
