Delhi Metro Stations Implement Security Measures Amid Farmers' Protest

In response to the ongoing farmers’ march towards the national capital, one or more gates at eight Delhi Metro stations were temporarily closed on Tuesday morning. However, passengers are still permitted to enter and exit through alternative gates at these stations. The closure of gates is part of security arrangements instructed by the police authorities.

The affected stations include Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Udyog Bhawan, Janpath, Barakhamba Road, and Khan Market. While the gates are closed for security reasons, the stations themselves remain operational.

Farmers from Punjab initiated the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on Tuesday morning, pressing for various demands, including a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. The farmers’ protest has led to increased security measures, with fortified borders at Punjab-Haryana to manage the situation.
