BJP's Bold Move: Election Manifesto Highlights UCC Implementation, One Nation One Poll

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its election manifesto, titled “Sankalp Patra,” for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. With a focus on uplifting women, youth, farmers, and the poor, the party outlined plans to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and advocate for ‘One Nation, One Poll.’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with top BJP leaders, including JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar, presented the manifesto, emphasizing its commitment to inclusive governance and national development.

A key highlight of the manifesto is the proposal for ‘One Nation, One Poll,’ aiming to synchronize elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies across the country. The BJP aims to create the necessary infrastructure and ecosystem to facilitate simultaneous elections, enhancing governance efficiency and stability.

Additionally, the BJP manifesto prioritizes the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), aiming for a single law applicable to all religious communities in matters such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and adoption. This move aligns with Article 44 of the Indian Constitution’s directive principles, emphasizing the state’s endeavor to secure a UCC.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated the significance of both ‘One Nation, One Poll’ and UCC, emphasizing the party’s commitment to good governance and national unity. He highlighted the BJP’s track record of delivering on manifesto promises and outlined key areas of focus for the future.

He said that the reason behind the entire nation “eagerly waiting” for the party’s manifesto is that “in 10 years, BJP has implemented every point of its manifesto as a guarantee.”

“This resolution letter empowers the four strong pillars of developed India – youth power, women power, poor and farmers,” PM Modi said, adding that “our focus is on dignity of life, quality of lives and jobs through investment.

He said, “Our focus is on ‘Nivesh se Naukri’, our manifesto is the reflection of India’s Youth”. “In the last ten years, around 25 crore people of Bharat have moved out of multidimensional poverty. This stands as a testament to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s strong commitment to a result-oriented approach to work,” he added.

It is Modi’s Guarantee that free ration scheme will continue to be operational for the next five years. “We will ensure that the poor person’s food plate is nutritious, satisfying, and affordable,” the PM said.

“Every senior citizen over the age of 70 years will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme,” the prime minister said, adding that they could belong to any economic background.

He said that in the work for the poor, “we will move forward with the manifesto of building three crore more houses”, PM Modi said.

The Mudra Yojana Loan ceiling limit that was Rs 10 lakh earlier, it will now be increased to Rs 20 lakh, the PM Modi noted as he spoke on the release of the BJP’s election manifesto. He added that the PM Swanidhi Yojana’s limit will also be increased to Rs 50,000, adding that it will be applicable to tier two and tier three cities as well.

The last 10 years have been dedicated to women’s dignity and new opportunities for women, he said, the coming five years will be of new participation of women power.

The BJP’s manifesto underscores its commitment to the welfare of marginalized communities, including women, farmers, and the poor. It pledges to continue initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and expand social welfare programs to ensure dignity and quality of life for all citizens.

In addition to electoral reforms and social welfare, the BJP manifesto outlines ambitious economic goals, aiming to propel India into the third-largest economy globally and establish the nation as a global manufacturing hub. The party envisions comprehensive development initiatives, including infrastructure projects and investment opportunities.

Furthermore, the manifesto emphasizes the BJP’s dedication to space exploration, security, and social justice. It promises initiatives to address issues such as paper leaks in examinations, education policy reforms, and support for transgender rights.

In summary, in BJP’s 2024 election manifesto, the party emphasizes several key priorities. It aims to empower women financially, introduce the PM Surya Ghar Yojana to eliminate electricity bills, and designate 2025 as the “Janjaatiya Year.” Additionally, the manifesto focuses on initiatives like “One Nation, One Election” and positioning India as the world’s third-largest economy and a global manufacturing hub. Other highlights include promoting cultural heritage, addressing issues like paper leaks, and hosting the Olympics in 2036. The manifesto also pledges to implement the Uniform Civil Code, provide benefits to migrant laborers through the e-Shram portal, and advocate for India’s permanent seat in the UN Security Council. It addresses healthcare for senior citizens, recognition for the transgender community under the Ayushman Yojana, and increases the loan ceiling under the Mudra Yojana. Furthermore, it proposes celebrating Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas on Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary and aims for significant advancements in space exploration.

The BJP’s election manifesto reflects its ideological foundation and commitment to governance based on inclusivity, development, and national progress. As the party prepares for the upcoming polls, it aims to garner support by presenting a comprehensive vision for India’s future.
