President Droupadi Murmu bestowed the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honor, upon four individuals. Swaminathan’s daughter and Thakur’s son were among those who received the award. Notable attendees included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. President Murmu will personally present the Bharat Ratna to LK Advani at his residence, scheduled for the following day. The absence of Advani due to ill health added a somber note to the proceedings.
