Class 9 girl allegedly abducted and gang-raped by minors in Uttar Pradesh village

A 15-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr village was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three minors, as per the complaint filed by her uncle. The incident took place when the victim had gone out to dispose of cow manure around 4 am. The accused forcefully took her to an abandoned house, gang-raped her, threatened to kill her if she reported the incident and fled the scene. The police are conducting raids to find the culprits who are absconding.

The victim’s family went searching for her after she did not turn up for almost two hours and found her in a semi-conscious state in the abandoned house. Her father, an army personnel, has been informed about the incident. A case of gangrape and another under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered.

The incident highlights the rampant problem of sexual violence against women and children in India. Despite strict laws and campaigns aimed at creating awareness, incidents of rape and sexual assault continue to occur regularly. The trauma faced by the survivors, especially minors, is unimaginable and leaves a long-lasting impact on their mental and physical well-being.

It is imperative that strict action is taken against the accused and that the survivors are provided with adequate support and care. Measures must be taken to prevent such incidents from occurring in the first place, and awareness must be raised among the public about the gravity of these crimes.
