Intuit Partners with OpenAI to Power Up its GenOS Platform with Cutting-Edge AI - Kruthiga V S

Intuit Inc., the global financial technology platform that offers TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, announced today that it is collaborating with OpenAI, the leading research organization in artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance its Intuit generative AI operating system (GenOS) with OpenAI’s state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs).

The partnership aims to support Intuit’s mission to empower prosperity for more than 100 million consumer and small business customers around the world. Intuit’s GenOS is a proprietary platform that enables Intuit developers to rapidly build secure, intelligent, and personalized applications powered by generative AI (GenAI), a branch of AI that can create novel content such as text, images, and code. Intuit’s financial LLMs are trained on the company’s own data, which specializes in solving tax, accounting, marketing, cash flow, and personal finance challenges.

These financial LLMs can intelligently determine the capabilities needed from Intuit’s platform, rich data, and knowledge set to create highly customized experiences that guide customers with their financial lives and help them prosper. By integrating OpenAI’s industry-leading GPT 3.5 and 4.0 models, which can generate coherent and diverse natural language texts on various topics, Intuit GenOS is able to accelerate GenAI-driven application development with speed and scale. Some of the applications that Intuit has already built using GenAI include TurboTax Live Expert Review, which automatically reviews tax returns and provides feedback; QuickBooks Cash Flow Planner, which forecasts cash flow and provides insights; and Mailchimp Smart Recommendations, which suggests marketing actions based on customer behavior.

“Intuit is creating breakthrough product experiences on Intuit GenOS and we are excited to be working with OpenAI using their industry-leading large language models to accelerate our innovation,” said Marianna Tessel, Chief Technology Officer at Intuit. “We’re harnessing the power of generative AI to power prosperity for more than 100 million customers around the world by transforming the way people manage their finances with full confidence.” “We’re excited to work with Intuit to bring together the power of the OpenAI LLMs with Intuit’s GenOS,” said Brad Lightcap, COO at OpenAI. “Intuit understands the potential of generative AI technology, and shares our commitment to advancing next-generation AI development safely and responsibly.”
