The BJP-led NDA secured 292 seats in the Lok Sabha, while the Opposition INDIA bloc garnered 233 seats in a highly contested election. The BJP alone won 240 seats, falling short of the majority mark of 272. The Congress increased its tally to 99 seats from 52 in the 2019 elections. Other parties, including regional outfits and Independents, won 16 seats.

Despite a significant number of seats, the NDA experienced a decline in vote share compared to the 2019 elections. The alliance’s vote share dropped from over 50 percent to approximately 46 percent in 2024.
