Lieutenant General Kavita Sahai Makes History as First Woman to Command Army Medical College in Lucknow

In a groundbreaking achievement, Lieutenant General Kavita Sahai has been appointed as the Commandant of Army Medical Corps Centre and College in Lucknow, becoming the first woman to hold this prestigious position. An alumna of Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, Lt. Gen. Sahai was commissioned into the Army Medical Corps in 1986.

Her remarkable career includes significant roles such as the Head of Department of Lab Medicine at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt, and serving as a Professor in the Department of Pathology at AFMC. Lt. Gen. Sahai has also held the position of Head of Department in Lab Medicine at Army Hosp (R&R) New Delhi.

This historic appointment reflects Lt. Gen. Kavita Sahai’s dedication, expertise, and trailblazing contributions to the medical field within the armed forces.
