Narendra Modi Re-Elected as Leader of NDA for Third Term

In a pivotal meeting on Wednesday, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) reaffirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their leader, setting the stage for his third consecutive term as Prime Minister. The meeting took place at Modi’s residence, where key allies discussed the details of forming the new government.

The resolution passed by the alliance stated, “We all are proud that NDA fought and won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections unitedly under the leadership of respected Shri Narendra Modi ji. We all unanimously choose respected NDA leader Shri Narendra Modi as our leader.”

Further, the resolution emphasized the NDA government’s commitment to serving India’s underprivileged populations, including women, youth, farmers, and marginalized communities. It pledged to continue improving the standard of living for all citizens and to foster the nation’s development while preserving its heritage.

Prominent leaders in attendance included TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan. Their parties secured significant victories in the election, with TDP winning 16 seats, JD(U) 12, Shinde-led Shiv Sena seven, and LJP five, positioning them as crucial players in the new government.

Visuals from the meeting, shared by the Press Trust of India, showed a light-hearted moment between Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu, highlighting the camaraderie among the alliance leaders.

The NDA’s victory and Modi’s re-election as leader underline the alliance’s unity and strength. The coalition secured 292 seats in the Lok Sabha, affirming its dominant position in Indian politics. The BJP, despite falling short of the majority mark with 240 seats, remains the largest party in the alliance.

In his response to the resolution, Modi reiterated his government’s dedication to deepening India’s strategic partnerships and addressing the needs of its citizens. He expressed his commitment to continuing efforts towards national development and global cooperation.

The next steps for the NDA include a formal meeting of coalition MPs to officially elect Modi as their leader. This meeting is expected to take place in the coming days, solidifying the leadership structure for the new term.

The re-election of Modi as the NDA leader is seen as a continuation of his previous terms’ policies and initiatives, aimed at economic growth, social development, and strengthening India’s position on the global stage. The alliance’s success in the 2024 elections reflects broad public support for their agenda and Modi’s leadership.

As the NDA prepares to form the new government, the focus will be on fulfilling their election promises and addressing the challenges faced by the nation. The involvement of key allies like the TDP, JD(U), Shiv Sena, and LJP will be instrumental in shaping the administration’s policies and strategies.
