UAE's National Media Office Briefs Media Ahead of COP28 Coverage

The National Media Office (NMO) of the UAE conducted a comprehensive media briefing in Abu Dhabi, engaging local, regional, and international media. The objective was to provide insights into the latest preparations and prerequisites for news coverage of the UN Climate Conference, COP28, the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties. Set to take place in Dubai, the briefing served to acquaint media professionals with Expo City Dubai, the event venue, and apprise them of essential procedures to enhance their coverage of this significant global gathering.

Acting Executive Director of the National Media Office, Ahmed Al Hosani, highlighted the importance of the briefing as part of NMO’s commitment to establish direct communication with diverse media outlets. This ensures meeting their requirements for extensive and insightful media coverage of this momentous event. The officials detailed the logistical services catering to media needs within Expo City Dubai’s blue and green zones. They elaborated on the facilities within the media center and explained the accreditation process for coverage.

In addition to on-site coverage, remote coverage registration is available, offering a virtual experience that includes watching plenary sessions and open events broadcasted on the United Nations website. Participating media outlets stressed the significance of such briefings to stay updated on pivotal developments, supporting their mission of delivering high-quality news coverage.

Scheduled from November 30 to December 12, 2023, COP28 will be hosted by the UAE at Expo City Dubai. Anticipated to draw over 70,000 participants, including dignitaries, government officials, industry leaders, academics, and representatives from civil society organizations, the conference holds immense significance in addressing pressing climate concerns.
